Submitting a Proposal

Persons are invited to provide proposals for papers on the theme:"Beauty and Tradition"
The theme is to be interpreted broadly and from the disciplines of philosophy, theology, history, social science, literature and the arts.

The conference specifically aims to foster interaction between scholars in the universities and scholars in theological colleges. It also encourages young scholars.

Proposals will need to obviously address the theme of the conference before they can be considered.
It is hoped that a collection of papers from the conference will be published.

The deadline for proposals is 20 July 2018.

Proposers will be notified about their proposals by the end of July.

A final title and abstract for distribution to participants will be required by September 8.

The following information is required with the proposal:
name (& title);
institutional affiliation;
mailing address, phone number;
email address;
preliminary title of paper;
brief abstract (100-400 words);
preferred session length (30 or 50 min);
brief biographical details;
any other information.

In 40 minute sessions, the maximum time for delivery of the paper is 30 minutes; in 50 minute sessions, the maximum time for delivery of the paper is 40 minutes. The chair will monitor time. Proposals may stipulate preferred time length, but for the practicalities of time-tabling the convenors of the conference reserve the right to determine the length of sessions.
Information such as accommodation possibilities are posted on the web.

Conference fee: $135 ($75 student concession) includes lunches and morning/afternoon teas. A conference dinner will be held on the Saturday evening: $50. A function on the Friday evening will enable participants to meet one another and to familiarise themselves with the venue.
