Personal

My academic career began in 1998, with the study of Modern History, first at the University of Bologna and then at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome, with a research focus on Italian refugees from Istria and Dalmatia after WWII. It was at this point that I began formation with a missionary seminary, leading to my eventual ordination as a priest of the Archdiocese of Sydney in 2011. During my seminary formation, I studied at the Catholic Institute of Sydney, where I earned my Baccalaureate of Sacred Theology in 2011. In the same year, I was appointed curate of St Christopher’s parish, Panania. In 2014 I was sent by the then Archbishop of Sydney, the late George Cardinal Pell, to study Sacred Scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. I was awarded the Licence in 2018, and then completed the year of doctoral preparation. Since 2020, I have been busy writing my doctoral thesis, which is nearing completion. The thesis topic is a study of adoption in the Eulogia of the first chapter of the Epistle to the Ephesians. After a lengthy period in Rome, I returned to Sydney in 2023 and began teaching at the Catholic Institute of Sydney.
